ECVFSA has governing by-laws and if there is no by-law pertaining to a certain situation,ECVFSA is to use ASA rules.  ASA rule 5 Section 3(regulation game) Article C A game called shall be regulation in 5 or more complete innings have been playe, or if the team second at bat has scored more runs in 4 or more innings than the other team has scored in 5 or more innings. This game did not even make the 4th inning. also ASA rule 5 Section 3 Article D Games that are NOT considered regulation shall be resumed at the exact point where they were stopped. This is a regulation game.   If I am wrong here i stand corrected,we have rules to follow, making a decision like this should be one that is in black and white ...

This is covered in our bylaws and it says that the game will start from were it left off. Tom Lederhouse had a set of bylaws that night and everyone knew what it said so there should be no arguments about it.
It would only start over if it was a playoff game which is also covered in our bylaws. Ask OP about that one.

From our current bylaws:

Article x

Section 1. Suspended game:

In the event of an emergency call for either team having to leave the field, the game is to be continued from that point where the interruption occurred. The umpire shall be instructed to make note of the game situation, batting and fielding orders, positions of runners, outs, balls , and strike count, etc. And relate information to the manager who remains on the field.
