What the hell is going on!!! Is it true that East Seneca gave the Championship to Woodlawn by forfeit. Shouldn't there be a game to decide the championship. If you know you cant play in the game why go through the playoffs. The way i see it the runner up should move up to the championship game. Woodlawn vs. Brant

Brant isnt interested in playing in the championship game as a " runner up". East Seneca beat us and if Woodlawn and East Seneca cant come to an agreement on a game date then do something else that day. It is unfortunate that this happened to both teams. East Seneca has a wedding and Woodlawn shouldnt have to play without their best players on Sunday. Its a tough situation. Its not fair to bash Woodlawn because they refuse to move the game to Sunday because they would be missing players. Nobody want to play the championship game without their best. East Seneca has a wedding that they are all in on Saturday. ****ty situation. If we had only won this could have all been avoided.
Hmm a wedding that was planned 2 years ago I guess should take a back seat to a championship softball game. This was addressed in October before the season even began. We also stated we would play any date other than Saturday so you can't tell me that your players will be not able to play any other day than saturday. Or is it because that your afraid of facing the hottest team in the playoffs; The Big Red Machine. Oh well its been a great ride but you've seen the last of East Seneca Softball in this league.
Everyone at East Seneca can call Woodlawn poor sports or whatever choice words you may have for us. This date was set 6 months in advance where I doubt this is some kind of thrown together shot-gun wedding. I seem to remember a few years back when due to rain the Championship game had to be moved. We, Woodlawn, tried to have the date changed then also but were refused. It was a game we lost at. I don't expect most of you to see our vantage point but after a while try to decide what you would do and realize Woodlawn did nothing wrong. So put your * or whatever you want next to our name if you must but remember we beat every team out there this year! I thought East Seneca was very good friends of ours but if this changes it so be it. As far as I heard only 3-4 players are involved in the wedding so what about the other 9-11 players on your team. Enough said.
I would like to make the following statement in behalf of the Woodlawn softball team. Hopefully this statement puts a halt to all of the unfair judements that are being placed against our ball team. We did not choose to, nor prefer to win a Championsip this way. This decision was made by your league officials after an agreement could not be reached between the members of Woodlawn and East Seneca. We hope that the President of the League will also make a statement on the website in the near future to explain his and the leagues final decision.
We would like everyone to know that we attempted to reach out to East Seneca and offered to play them at any time on Saturday between the hours of 8am through 6:45pm so they could make it to the wedding. East Seneca refused. Our team also attempted to move the date during several meetings that we had, but we always had a player or two missing due to prior committments. As a team we did not feel that it would be fair to accomidate East Seneca by playing on a different date short handed ourselves. When all we did was take care of bussiness on Tuesday against Reserve for the right to play at 4pm on 8/18/07 in the Championship game (against whoever won the game between East Seneca and Brant).
We realize that teams may be upset with this decision, our own team is upset that we couldn't get things done with East Seneca. We hope that whatever friendships that we had with East Seneca remain what they were. We were never out to "screw anyone in the league". Were sorry we couldn't get things done to accomidate everyone including Brant who was to host the Championship game.
It sounds to me that Woodlawn was ready to play at any time on the day the game was scheduled . It is not there fault that East seneca couldn't. I don't see how east seneca can think they got screwed. I think the league as a whole takes a black eye for not crowning a champion on the field. Some times there is no good answers. Like anyone from brant has room to judge anybody this league.They accomadate. your team to play on tues for whatever reason. But every thursday there they are with there coolers. I thought this was a thursday league.

Try using a spellcheck...it does wonders and it would bring more legitimacy to your weak-ass post!
Theres going to be some intense ass games next year. I think I'm going to buy tickets to the East Seneca/Brant game and the East Seneca/Woodlawn games next season. :D
