Vinnie,Larry, and Mike hit home runs and Steve hit a triple to leed Woodlawn to the win. Chet did have a couple strikeouts{Ernie and Mike} and did pitch a good game. Ernie also did pitch a good game and kept the big hitters in the park. Rumor has it Rob owes Ernie 25 dollars.
North Collins beat a very very short handed Lakeview team with no pitcher, and threw a guy who'd never played baseball before. He did really well though, especially for never playing, his effort was awesome and threw some nice pitches.
After 5, we decided to play out the game for fun anyway after the ump left, it gave everyone a chance to play some different spots, and more importantly let everyone get some extra cuts with people fielding, great idea by Lakeview.
Hope you guys enjoyed the spaghetti dinner! Good luck the rest of the way!

North Collins Softball, win or lose, we drink the booze
Reserve @ O Park last night. Reserve got the bats going early in the 1st and kept putting the ball where OP didn't have a chance, they quickly took a 6-0 lead by the end of 2. OP came back with 4 in the 3rd then both teams tightened the defense with no more scoring until the bottom of 6 when OP crossed 2 more to tie the game going into the 7th. (deja vu for last 2 weeks). Reserve came out on a mission and worked hard to get 3 more and forced OP on there heals into the bottom of the 7th. Then they brought in the Goose as the finisher and he made quick work of the first 2 outs, OP refused to die and with some well placed hits, some hard base running, and forcing the throws, Jimmy Putnam hit a chinker to short right scoring his brother Jason from 2nd for the game winner. Final Orchard Park - 10 Reserve - 9 Good game by both teams, and we retired to beef on weck at Central, We'll have the pleasure of playing them again in a couple weeks.
On fire?! I don't know a bout that..... We are just making teams work for the W. We are just having a lot of fun. If we win, we win.. If we lose we booze. Either way we're still drinkin'

Police say a softball player has died in upstate New York after being punched in the head by a member of the opposing team. A Monroe County sheriff's spokesman says the softball game at a field in Parma on Sunday had ended when 37-year-old Hilton resident Dan Andrews was punched in the back of the head and neck. A motive for the deadly assault is under investigation. A hospital spokesman says Andrews died Monday night. The sheriff's spokesman says a 27-year-old man initially was charged with assault but will face additional charges. The state Department of Correctional Services tells the Democrat and Chronicle the man was on parole for assault charges. It says he was released last March after serving four years. The man has been jailed without bail. He returns to court Wednesday.
